Apple released iOS 13.4 beta 4 for developers. The frequency with which Apple has recently released updates to its operating systems cannot but rejoice. After all, from September 2019 to March 2020, the highest density of updates per unit of time occurs. Needless to say, if only in the last two months of the fall of last year, Apple managed to release more than ten updates. This is a real record, because they have never done anything like this before in Cupertino. Another thing is that, probably, all these updates came out not because of the generosity of the developers, but because of problems that needed to be fixed urgently. Well, even for iOS 13.4, Apple focused on expanding the functions of the OS, and not on bug fixes.
iOS 13.4 is still being tested, but most likely will be released before the end of March
Today, March 3, Apple released the fourth installment of beta versions of iOS 13.4, iPadOS 13.4, tvOS 13.4, macOS 10.15.4 and watchOS 6.2. Traditionally, at the initial stage, they are available for download only to owners of compatible devices with developer accounts whose maintenance costs $ 100 per year. However, if you are lucky enough to find a valid beta profile, which appear on the Web quite often, and which, as a rule, is not difficult to find, you can install updates.
What’s New in iOS 13.4
- Folder sharing in iCloud Drive;
- New memoji;
- CarKey interface for opening and starting cars using the iPhone;
- Ability to configure quick commands on external keyboards for iPad;
- Interface changes in the Mail application;
- References to the 6th generation Apple TV and Powerbeats 4 headphones.

As you can see, the list of innovations is not too extensive, given that, most likely, iOS 13.4 is the last functional update to Apple’s mobile OS, which we will see before the fall of 2020. It is possible that during this time the company will present a few more patches with bug fixes and vulnerabilities that developers make one way or another, but they will not carry any tangible innovations. In any case, if you rely on the experience of previous years.
When iOS 13.5 comes out
Why Apple releases the final update of the thirteenth iteration of iOS, I think, is understandable. Due to the initial pace that Cupertino took immediately after the release of iOS 13, the company’s developers were forced to integrate into the new schedule, firstly, to release all the innovations that were originally planned for the debut version of iOS 13, and, secondly, for in order not to leave users without new features for a long time. But since it cannot be ruled out that Apple has implemented all the planned innovations, it is quite possible that by September we will also see iOS 13.5. If this really happens, I would focus on May-June.
