iOS 15 Supported Devices. Apple is expected to introduce iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 at the WWDC developer conference in June 2021. It has released a complete list of all compatible iOS 15 devices, including the iPhone 7.
A new report from the appleosbeta.com website says that this year’s iOS 15 will not support all devices like iOS 15 last year. There will be minor changes only on iPadOS 15.
This means that the iPhone 7s and all iPhones released later will continue to be supported by this year’s latest iOS version. This list may include iPhone SE, released in 2017.
Which iPhones will support iOS 15
iOS 15 Supported Devices:
- iPhone 12
- iPhone 12 Pro
- iPhone 12 Pro Max
- iPhone SE 2020
- iPhone 11 Pro Max
- iPhone 11 Pro
- iPhone 11
- iPhone XS Max
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XR
- iPhone X
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 7
- iPhone 6S
- iPhone 6S Plus
Although the source claims all supported smartphones, this may not be entirely true. We believe that iOS15 will not be available for iPhone SE, iPhone 6S, and iPhone 6S Plus models. With the release of a new version of the operating system, Apple always reduces the number of devices to support it. More will be known later.
Apple iPadOS 15 Compatible Devices
The source also said that Apple will stop updating the new iPadOS for iPad Mini 4 (released in September 2015) and iPad Air 2 (released in October 2014). These devices, in turn, come with A8 and A8X chips. And the list of supported iPadOS 15 devices includes:
- iPad Air 4
- iPad 8
- 12.9 iPad Pro (1st generation)
- 12.9 iPad Pro (2nd generation)
- 12.9 iPad Pro (3rd generation)
- iPad Pro 2020
- 11 iPad Pro
- 9.7 iPad Pro
- 10.5 iPad Pro
- iPad (7th generation)
- iPad (6th generation)
- iPad (5th generation)
- iPad Air 2019
- iPad Air 2
- iPad mini 5
- iPad mini 4
The final versions of iOS15 and iPadOS 15 will be released in September 2021. Before that, we will have a presentation in June and a stage of beta testing of firmware.
Apple software support has always been determined by the hardware. I find it hard to believe that the 5th generation iPad will continue to be supported but not the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus or the SE 2016, when they all have the same A9 chip and 2 GB of RAM.
exactly, it is very stupid.
Funny thing iPad Air 2 will be supported is due to its 3 core cpu
ipad 5th generation(2017)
iphone 6s + SE (2016)

I’m glad the 1st gen iPad Pro 9.7″ will still be supported. My daughter has one and I was going to upgrade her, but hers still works fine, so she doesn’t care about getting a new one yet. I suppose we’ll get another year or two out of this device.
